One movie that I have postponed for so long, I forgot I even wanted to see it. Colin Firth performing at his best and Tom Ford in his debut as a director. You can’t get much better than that. I will let yall know how it goes. I will try to watch it tonight.
what a spank job? have we seen the last of fabio in charge of the three lions? is germany unstoppable? so many questions and few if any answers.
i don’t feel bad for any england fan because if they payed any attention to the group stage, they didn’t deserve to be playing that game. rooney has been invisible all four games and the absolute failure of their midfield to create any chances were a big part of their downfall. this is an extremely massive scandal across the pond. they put capello in charge in order for him to make england a fearsome force in the world cup. they looked lethal in qualifying and with rooney and lamps in fine form all season, it was looking to be a great world cup. however they both faltered under the brightest the world has to offer. no one of this side of the ball did anything good, all they did was just waste possession and squander decent chances at goal.
the defense looked porous all day. the first goal shouldn’t happen, its one of the most embarrassing ways to let in a goal. you have to get a head on that jabulani. no one was able to so klose did what he has done in every world cup, score goals. i know the injury to rio killed the morale and defense of the squad, however that doesn’t explain their performance. glen and ashley got forward, like they do in every game; however they didn’t offer anything new. they didn’t spark anyone up top. the presence of another attacker usually creates something within the attack or makes the defense make some adjustments that might bode well for the attackers. the defense did nothing to stop the goal and did nothing to start anything on the counter.
england are great at losing, the can’t handle the pressure like germany can. germany has a winning mentality and are able to deal with the pressure in each match. england has the weight of a nation on their shoulders and they have the ghosts of ‘66 on their shoulders. each player feel the ghosts and their own nerves at all times. england was outclassed by a young, disciplined german side.
fabio shouldn’t get fired i think but i know he wants to walk. the players want him to stay but if i was him i would think long and hard about it. the team he was handed and the 23 man roster he put together was great. loads of talent, skill, pace and potential. the mental aspect of the game is something that is killing england. he would have to do a massive overhaul of the entire three lions culture. do away with the idea of ‘66. i think that he doesn’t want to do that and wants to return to italy. there are no teams at home that are willing to have the funds and talent he is looking for. there aren’t many high profile jobs in europe that are looking for a manager like him. he wouldn’t go to the epl if he left, spain has two teams, barca, who has a world class manager in pep guardiola and jose just took over at real madrid. juve just got delnieri, milan just started the rafalution, roma are set with ranieri, ac milan just hired allegri. he may just take a sabbatical and wait for the right team to come knocking.
Dare I say that Kevin Costner is here to save the day? Well if BP has its way with things, they will buy 32 oil centrifuges that were made by the Waterworld actor. He poured $20 million and 15 years, of his own life and bank account into researching and constructing these centrifuges. Basically what they do is fill up a tank and spin the water within it really fast so the oil is separated from the water. It is able to get out 99% of the oil. It does the same thing your high school ones did but on a grander scale. Costner is doing something and I applaud him for it.
Well as most of you know the movie version of Avatar: The Last Airbender will be coming out in a few weeks. I just can’t wait to see most likely the final film of M. Night’s career. I mean come on, you can’t take this movie seriously can you? its gonna be garbage and maybe the few action sequences may be cool but i highly doubt that. well we all see in a few weeks
Edit: (I just realized I had more to say on the matter)
The television show is another show i have never gotten around to watching. There are a few seasons to the show, it will be mindbending to see how they are able to condense that all into a two hour flick. A lot of people are really interested in this film because they are huge fans of the story and the show. I am a fan of the idea, four nations that control the original four elements. The last airbender character looks like he will tank; fom what i have heard about the show, isn’t it really funny and that the last airbender character is funny? I see no humor, everything in strictly business. Fox has put a lot behind this movie, the budget is huge and if you haven’t noticed the marketing. I see the commercial everywhere and the ads in so many magazines and websites. For now, all we can do is wait for what we all know to be another horrible take that Hollywood has done with something magical; destroy what we love best, our childhood.
gotta give credit where credit is due, the sofia knows her stuff. the trailer looks absolutely gorgeous. the shots, the angles, the general tone of the film is stunning. i am kinda reminded of where the wild things are, with the arc of the main character; living a life where he is all on his own even though he is surrounded by others, someone comes in and changes his life, he starts to view the world differently and comes home to become a better person after the departure of the life changing person. I may or may not be correct in making such sweeping generalizations but i did anyway. it just was something that came to mind because her and spike did get married. i do see a little lost in translation in there from the message of the flick. needless to say lost in translation is an amazing film and a true work of art. elle fanning is dakota’s younger sis and sofia is the girlfriend and baby momma of the now infamous band phoenix lead singer. i can not wait for this to come out.
So here is a world cup update for all the fools who don’t follow the biggest tourney in the world. One thing, and really the only thing I want to talk about, is the FFF (French Football Federation) is umm how do you say, in complete crisis mode in French? Well, the coach is a person that everyone in the country hates and all of the players hate him. Nick Anelka got himself sent home because of a spat that he the coach got into. The incident happened at halftime, of all the times to get into an argument with your coach, halftime I think is one of the worst. How does this happen between two old men? This first story is completely unbelievable, their second game into the World Cup, a player gets sent home. All he did was speak his mind and be up front about it. Anelka has been known to do that all through his career. It is the coaches job to make sure all 23 men on the roster are kept happy so that they can play their best on the field. On the contrary, the rest of the squad sent a huge message to the world by not training because they are showing their support of striker Nick Anelka. You have got to be kidding me, seriously? You are so dedicated to a player that you are willing to almost throw away your entire World Cup dreams? By not training you may be getting more rest, by too much rest leads to rust. Rust will mean that they are going home. France has been playing like total garbage out there all tournament long and even in qualifying. They had to resort to a handball in order to get past Ireland, against Mexico and Uruguay they player poorly. While the host country may look like a cake walk, they need help in order to get into the next round. France, the runner up last year and a team that many believed to have a shot at making a nice deep run, is neck deep in shame and disgust. They can only erase this mess by winning a few games and playing to their full potential.
Just gave it listen for the first time since it dropped in ‘07
Well let me tell you, it is one hell of an album. Lyrically, Kanye West truly advanced and opened up his dictionary. He has always been on top of his game, whether as a producer or rapper. I am a huge fan of the niche that he has created within the rap game today. A few young up and coming rappers have followed his lead; have you ever heard of Drake and Kid Cudi? While they, Drake and Cudi, are both themselves and independent of each other, you are able to see the West influence in both of their works. He is able to be in touch with his feelings while not being very showy about it. He can rap about his troubled upbringing and girls, which he does on “Drunk and Hot Girls”. I believe that West is what the industry needs and what the future holds for rap. He paints a picture of himself within the context of the song format. He is the kind of rapper that I appreciate as a listener and the type or rapper that I would emulate if I ever started to spit rhymes.
"Big Brother" i think is the best song on the album, lyrically. My personal favorite is between "Flashing Lights" and "Homecoming". Nothing beats that beat that is used on "Lights". I have heard it sampled by so many rappers on countless mixtapes; to me that is a sign of respect and admiration. Just listening and looking up the lyrics to each song one is able to tell that West has truly arrived as a rapper.
This is my favorite album of his, the first two I were was too young to truly appreciate and the songs are all played out on those records. Graduation to me tells the story of a young man on top of the world and looking down at all his loyal subjects while also looking to the future. West has dealt with a lot and grown a lot since this album. 808 was a decent record in my eyes; I am patiently waiting for September because West finally drops another anticipated record, appropriately titled, A Good Ass Job.
i try to look at the nutritional information every time i pick something up at the food store. i never knew that the FDA allowed companies to round down to zero. that is a terrifying proposition. also all of the things that they put in the food is all chemically made, so you know it can’t be great for you body.
you feel for the old man but also you have understand where the family is coming from. i say let him live his life. it is very apparent that he has changed his ways and the crime was so long ago, everyone forgot about it. i believe that there is no justice in letting a changed man die in jail. that is not justice, i think it is cruel
